Was never much of a fundraiser. Never could stand it in school, never had any interest in a sales job and genuinely, I just feel bad asking people to buy overpriced items for any sort of cause especially items people would never buy otherwise. I found a couple of cool fundraisers I am going to be doing. One is for flower bulbs. They have all sorts of high quality bulbs and they actually are not a bad price...like you can pay 20 dollars for a variety of 56 bulbs that are guaranteed to bloom! I'm also contemplating selling candles. I'm not too sure yet though because they are very expensive and you have to sell 150 them or there is a 65 dollar shipping fee which if you only sold a few could make you lose money.
I also am going to be selling baby boutique headbands. I am making them myself. I am going to be trying to sell them on ebay and will also custom make pieces for people for 5 dollars each. If you are interested, let me know, they are very cute! Attached are some of the flowers I have made. They are one clips that you snap in your hair and can be used alone or attached to the lycra crocheted headband that will be included!
With the candles, put some feelers out there ahead of time to see if there is any interest... that type of sales scheme too-often bites the seller.
ReplyDeleteFundraisers are a great idea but I'm with you on the whole not being very fundraiser savy! I don't like them much either. We tried doing an adoption yard sale to fund raise and that was a total bust. Now I'm trying to think of other ways to do it but I'm not crafty AT ALL so I think making and selling something is out of the question. I'm also with you on the whole pressuring people into buying something they don't need. I wish there were a simple answer to this!
